Summary:
There’s a fine line between love and loathe.

Rilla Pine is ready for her main character moment, but first her debut fantasy novel must pass inspection by her uptight editor. Easy on her eyes but hard on her head, he seems determined to dissect her life’s work.

Logan Carmichael turns manuscripts into bestsellers. A seasoned professional with ladders to climb and deadlines to meet, he has little patience for the erratic, albeit captivating, author who seems to find joy in pushing buttons he didn’t know he had.

Working together is plausible. Finding common ground and falling for the very person they’d like to set on fire? It’s a plot twist neither one saw coming.

Review:
First, I'd like to thank K.M. Gillis for sending me a copy in exchange for a review! This was such a fun and entertaining read, I'm definitely going to need to go back and read her other books!

I want to talk about the fact that this was a writer/editor kind of romance, and being a reader myself, I was so drawn to those aspects of the story! I think it was cool to read sort of like the inside perspective of writing and editing!

I do think there were some heavier moments between the characters that added another layer to the story which I really enjoyed! The relationship with Logan and his sister-in-law, niece, and nephew was amazing. His parents on the other hand are jerks and deserve the day they have! The fact that Logan's standing up for them with his parents really shows how much love the three of them have from him. Not to mention the hilarious banter between Logan and his nephew had me laughing out loud!

Speaking of parents, both sides have their own issues but you can see that Logan's is the worst of the two. Thinking that money can solve all the issues or buy things, or that he should be with someone more "prestigious" than Rilla. And when Rilla is sitting there watching this all unfold, that whole scene had me slow clapping her, it was amazing!!

There was a moment where I knew it might come about, but when it actually happened, I felt like there could have been more to the story. I can't say much about it without spoiling, but I do think there could have been more build up, and then a bit more of how it gets resolved. It's not like it came out of nowhere, but damn the publisher is gross. I know it's not the main part of the story, but since it's a twist that was woven in, I do feel like there could have been more to it.

Overall, this was a fun and entertaining read! There were some heavier moments and it wasn't super spicy, but the romance was so sweet. I was so drawn to the story and couldn't put it down! I had many laugh out loud moments, swoony moments, and of course some heavier things that really pushed the characters so well!

That's all for my review, I hope you enjoyed it, and be sure to get yourself a copy to read!

So until the next time, keep reading!
Your Graduated Bookworm!! :)
