Summary:
Tessa is a good girl with a sweet, reliable boyfriend back home. She’s got direction, ambition, and a mother who’s intent on keeping her that way.

But she’s barely moved into her freshman dorm when she runs into Hardin. With his tousled brown hair, cocky British accent, tattoos, and lip ring, Hardin is cute and different from what she’s used to.

But he’s also rude—to the point of cruelty, even. For all his attitude, Tessa should hate Hardin. And she does—until she finds herself alone with him in his room. Something about his dark mood grabs her, and when they kiss it ignites within her a passion she’s never known before.

He’ll call her beautiful, then insist he isn't the one for her and disappear again and again. Despite the reckless way he treats her, Tessa is compelled to dig deeper and find the real Hardin beneath all his lies. He pushes her away again and again, yet every time she pushes back, he only pulls her in deeper.

Tessa already has the perfect boyfriend. So why is she trying so hard to overcome her own hurt pride and Hardin’s prejudice about nice girls like her?

Unless…could this be love?

Review:
Alright, so I'm just gonna say it. I definitely didn't love this as much as everyone hyped it to be. I think that was also part of the problem. There is such a HUGE fan base behind this considering this started on Wattpad, but I just felt like it could've been better in my opinion. I have heard though that the series gets better, so I'm obviously going to finish it out since I have them all.

So personally... Tessa is annoying. I don't know if the author intended her to be this kind of way, but I felt like she was constantly talking about how much she was an adult and can make her own choices, and how her mother is a control freak, but in reality, it's all of that within herself too. Which she realizes, but it
takes far too long for her to come out of her zone. It also felt like she had this thought in her head that she was better than some of the people around her because she had better things to do like study than hang with friends.

I also felt like this relationship was just so negative. We all know Hardin is not good for her, yet we fall for his charm. Yes, that's totally true, but how many times do they have to have arguments and flip flop through emotions before she finally decides to stick up for herself and to tell him to stop being such an ass?

Now I'm not totally hating this book, because there were definitely steamy, and dramatic moments that I really did enjoy! First off, her mother is definitely a piece of work... and when she finally gets that "slap in the face" wake up call, all I can say is, it's about damn time! Her mother was definitely hard core in the aspect that their lives were somewhat superior because "we don't do those things." and totally judging people without getting to know them at all.

I also really enjoyed the sweet moments between Tessa and Hardin where you see him finally bring his walls down. It wasn't often, but they were the core moments where you see their relationship bring out the best in both of them. At the beginning, they both definitely have issues of their own, but the bad boy helps open up the good girl's life, and the good girl shows the bad boy what potential he has if he would open himself up more. That's what really had me enjoying it all!

Overall, this was a good, but conflicting story. I felt like a lot of it was spent arguing with one another, that it really could've been condensed down into 200-300 pages and it sill would've been a good novel. I think that there was also WAY too much hype over it, that it made my expectations far higher than they should've been going into any book I normally read.

Like I've said before, just because I don't enjoy it as much, doesn't mean you won't love it! I have quite a few blogger friends who enjoyed this book, and that's totally awesome! We all experience reading differently!

That's all for my review, I hope you enjoyed it!

So until the next time, Keep Reading!
