Meraki Candles Product Review

Welcome Bookworms! As I'm sure many of you who follow me on Instagram know, I am a Brand Rep for Meraki Candles. However, that doesn't mean that this review won't be honest. I am here as a reviewer to check out what this new brand is all about and inform you all things about it! So with that in mind, lets get started!

Meraki Candles

Flavour: Baked Cookies and French Vanilla
Candle Type: Soy Candle
Wicks: 1
Rating: 4.5/5

Okay, so I received this candle from Heather (Meraki Candles) She did not ask for a review, but I wanted to let you all know what I think of this product now that I have used it. First off, I have to say that the delivery was absolutely fast to get to me! I was surprised to find it in my mail so quickly, as it is coming from Edinburgh UK, and I'm from Canada!

So just to give you an idea of cost wise, I will break it down for you. Personally for me, since the company is so far away, it is a little costly for just one candle (and I realize that it's hard to change shipping costs due to it being a home business rather than a large company) Even when shipping to the States, it is a little cheaper than Canada. Although for other places around the world, prices may vary...

Canadian Dollars: $17.77
Canadian Shipping: $14.29
Canadian Customs: Yes

United States Dollar: $13.42                                     British Pound: £9.95
United States Shipping: $10.79                                British Shipping: £2.99
United States Customs: Yes                                      British Customs: No

So the size of the candle is pretty decent. I am used to the three wick candles, so I am also used to larder sized candles as well. The photos above are after I have let it burn for a while. Also you have to take into account the size for the dollar you are spending on it. For me, I would have liked the jars to be bigger (maybe even making it a 2 wick candle) and I would get more for my buck.

I LOVE these designs on the candles! The little logo on the top, with the photo of the scent in the background makes these candles to die for! They're just so cute, and yet simple at the same time. Definitely more modern and that's a plus in my books!

I will say that as soon as I received the package, I could smell the candle even before I opened it! Nothing beats the scent of freshly baked cookies, and to be honest, I'm now craving some myself... When you light the candle, I would say that you can definitely smell the scent. It takes a little while before it starts to move into other rooms. It is definitely a slow burn type of candle. I had this one going for probably an hour or two and it barely made a dent! I will say to be careful, that sometimes when you are re-lighting it after it has gone back to a solid form, that it has cracked (like made a popping noise) from being re-started.

So I personally am a HUGE fan of the fact that this candle has a lid. I cannot tell you how many times, I have gotten candles that don't have a cover, and about ninety-five percent of the time, I get dust, cat hair, or even the candle gets damaged due to something. So having a lid on these candle is amazing, because it not only makes it safer when putting away-if it's still a little warm- but it also protects your candle from any of that happening! YAY Lids! ;)

Although I do not recommend doing this, I just want to let you know that the jar doesn't get too hot too fast. While sitting here, I actually have the candle burning, and I've had to pick it up and move it around to grab paper or notes that are on my desk, and the jar isn't bad. I'm sure if you leave it for hours on end, the jar will be extremely hot, but nothing of that severity for an hours burn. *Again, I don't recommend touching it as flames and fire are obviously hot!*

Lastly, like the photos below, I wanted to talk about what happens when you are blowing out the candle. I know that there are a lot of candles that when you've put them out, they cloud up with smoke and that's all you smell...which is not pleasant! When I put out this candle, however, I found that the scent of cookies combined with the smoke, so you didn't get that off scent of burning wick. It takes about 15 seconds for the smoke to finish, and go away, so you're not there for a while waiting for the candle to stop smoking. (Big thumbs up!)

Overall, I really LOVE this candle and the brand. I love to support so many local artists and businesses, especially when they smell this good! Personally for me, the only thing that brings it down from a 5 star to a 4.5 would be the fact that the size is a little small for my preferences and the Canadian prices are too high (but I mean our dollar isn't doing the best anyway)

This candle packs a punch, although it's not too strong. I find that it lasts for a long time, and to be perfectly honest, It's probably one of my favourite candles I own!
