Summary:
*An enemies to lovers romance*

Travis King is the worst kind of asshole.

He taunts me for being a good girl and mocks my high standards.
He’s cruel, crass, and has enough confidence to last two lifetimes.
And I hate him.

It wouldn’t matter so much if he were avoidable.

But considering he’s my older brother’s best friend and roommate, I see him more than I’d ever want to.

His sculpted abs and gorgeous eyes are a waste on such an egotistical man, which makes me hate him even more.

Even though I’ve had a crush on him since I was ten, the feelings weren’t mutual and he’s always made that very clear.

He’s always loved getting under my skin and one night against my better judgment, I let him in my bed.

I’ve succumbed to his manwhore ways, but that doesn’t change a thing.

Because the King is about to get played at his own game—and lose.

Checkmate.

Review:
I first want to say thank you to Kennedy Fox for sending me a copy of this book for an honest review. I must say it left me with absolutely nothing and everything to say!

Alright, so this book has all the steaminess you could possibly need, and add in some hate, childhood memories, and a lot of on the edge of your seat moments!! I will admit that there were parts of the story where I was almost turned off with the way that Travis was being perceived, until you got a little more glimpse of the underlying truth and emotion. Also add in the fact that there was a HUGE CLIFFHANGER IN THE WORLD and I am seriously struggling to stay upright! You are going to need all the junk food you can gather, and a bucket of ice because this is a hot one!

Right off the bat, you go into it with a lot of tension between V and Travis, and it so clearly evident. I LOVE that this wasn't a book where two people just go straight into Instalove, but the fact that there was a war between the two and so much despise for one another! I loved the fact that they really didn't care what they said to one another, and quite literally laid out all of their cards for one another *If you know what I mean*

Boy let me tell you, throughout this story, there is SO MUCH heat, sex, sexual innuendos, and sexual frustration going on! Like this ain't your mothers old school romance book. This is a modern take and so much more steaminess and heat, you can't read this in public...unless you have a good poker face.

Can we just take a quick moment to appreciate and also hate Travis King for a moment?! Like a hot roommate and best friend to your brother?? YES PLEASE!! *raising my hand* There is so much more about Travis other than the fact that he is a huge manwhore to basically every girl. I'm not a huge fan of his choice of words sometimes, but his actions speak volumes! You really see him kind of transform back to his past self and really show the protectiveness and care that he has under all of that muscle madness.

"Viola Fisher was special. To me at least."

There were moments when reading this where you get more of the substance of the novel than just the sex, where I actually could relate. Like the family aspect, the connection to a siblings best friend, the care that everyone has for one another including V's best friend. Most importantly the connection V has with her brother. I think that's what matters most. For anyone who has a sibling, you may not think right now that you love them, but like me as you get older, you really see how much of a best friend they become and you literally want to spend so much time with them! I think that having that dynamic in the book really shows that there is always more to a life than a typical family, and that family doesn't have to be just that, but they can be more and it can be from whoever.

Throughout the novel you really see a push and pull effect happening between V and Travis. There were serioulsy moments where I was so frustrated with the way they both were acting, I just wanted to yell at them to just truthfully speak to each other and tell them how they really feel!

It was such a roller coaster ride of emotions, and you really get ALL THE FEELS when reading this! For me, there was maybe a little too much sex, but once you get to the end, you kind of understand why, and I totally get it! All the way throughout you feel like punching the "King" right in the face, and then everyone starts to open up, and you begin to finally get some where.

Alright, so here were a couple other quotes that got me while reading this:

"I won't allow myself to be the ma my father was to my mother. It's one of my biggest fears and biggest reasons I need to protect her from me."

"As much as I love to drive her insane, I can't deny the way she's always made me feel."

"I may have given him my body, but I refuse to give him my heart."

Okay, I'm now going to talk about that cliffhanger! When I say that I thought I knew exactly how this book would end, I slowly started to get closer to the last few pages, and began to realize that it wasn't going to come out the way I expected....Right out from underneath me BAM!! In comes this absolutely huge, wanting to know more, and trowing your tablet across the room, freaking out kind of moment that happens literally closing in on the last word of the end of this book. I was totally no prepared! I don't think I've ever read such a game changer and a very intense cliffhanger that left you going WTF and I need more!

Overall I LOVED this book! There were so many moments that this hate to love relationship really gets under your skin (in a good way) and then begin to develop more as the story goes on! There was definitely a lot of *heat* going on, and you definitely will not be prepared for what happens. A truly entertaining war between V and Travis, that I would one hundred percent re-read in a heartbeat!

So that's all for my review today! I hope you enjoyed it, an I hope you go grab yourself a copy! I will advise you that it is more of an 18+ kind of novel, but wow!

So until the next time, Keep Reading!
Your Graduated Bookworm!! :)
