Holding You Close (Lawton Ridge Duet Series #4)
Author: Kennedy Fox
Publisher: Kennedy Fox
Published: March 2021
Format: ARC E-Book
Pages: 251
Rating: 5/5
Summary:
After serving a decade long prison sentence for an accident that resulted in my husband’s death, Noah Reid returns. Even if he was my childhood best friend and the first man I secretly loved, I refuse to make it easy for him. But the heart never forgets and those old repressed feelings quickly bubble to the surface.

Loving him is a dangerous game but one I’m willing to play.

Flirting leads to falling between the sheets, and I’m forced to deal with the guilt of what we’re doing. Viciousness towards Noah runs rampant and while revenge trickles through the streets of Lawton Ridge, I realize there’s more on the line than just my heart. While I’m afraid that my son and I will be caught in the crossfire of those who want to hurt Noah, I can’t walk away.

Secrets are revealed and revelations are made, but losing him again isn’t an option—especially since I’m pregnant.

Review:
First, I'd like to thanks Kennedy Fox for sending me an ARC copy in exchange for an honest review, and my oh my have I found a new Book Boyfriend!!

I have to say that lately I've been in a mix of feelings when it comes to some of the books I've been reading. Many of them I love, but I haven't had a book lately that's really kept me waking up early in the morning to finish, obsessed with the characters and craving so much more as I did with this!

So you're starting right off from where Pushing You Away ends and if you haven't read that yet, make sure you do!

This story flowed so well, I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know more, wanting to find out what's gonna happen next, it's such a page turner. There were moments that I could totally predict, but just when you think you've got things all figured out, Kennedy Fox knows how to hit you with the one-two punch on twists that kind of come from nowhere, and you're left sitting there contemplating throwing your book across the floor or cry.

With their story, a lot of things do get resolved quickly, but when you keep reading, you actually get a more realistic view of their relationships, family and everyday life that was written so amazingly! There becomes another layer to the story that's not necessarily about Brittany (You'll know what I mean if you've read about her) but it's about how to navigate life after so many things have happened... It's honestly such a great love story!

The dynamic between all the characters is just amazing, and you honestly feel like you're a part of this awesome group! Of course there were plenty of hilarious moments, but I think what REALLY got me was then entire way that Kennedy Fox wrote Owen in this book. Of course he's made appearances, and is part of book 1 in the duet, but I felt like he was more seen, and you could sense how he felt about everything going on, especially since he doesn't have a father, and Katie is doing everything she can as a single parent. It just hit me a certain way, and I honestly loved how everything played out!

Can we just take a second to appreciate Noah. Like what is out there that he can't do?! You see him try to form a bond with Owen, which obviously isn't always easy with his father being gone, but when there are those moments in the book that's just Owen and Noah, you can't help but fall in love with them!

Overall, this book was amazing! I seriously loved it from the beginning to end, the story flowed so well and was definitely fast paced. The ending though?! OMG Talk about SWOON-WORTHY!! Noah has definitely made it in my top list of Book Boyfriends after reading Holding You Close!

If you haven't grabbed a copy yet, you need to! I recommend starting this series from the very beginning to get a better reading experience!

That's all for my review, I hope you enjoyed it!

So until the next time, Keep Reading!
Your Graduated Bookworm!! :)
