Summary:
The first time I met Kyler Blackwood, he was a bruised and battered boy with fire in his eyes and nowhere safe to land.

Since the first time he kissed me, he was my best-kept secret, my quiet rebellion, my haven in the storm.

But fate forced us apart, making us pretend to be strangers because it hurt too much to be anything else.

Years later, time hasn’t dulled what we felt, has never erased the way we fit. And when Kye’s past collides with my present, everything shifts.

It’s a choice neither of us expected.
A bond that never really broke.
A line we were never meant to cross.

We tell ourselves it’s only temporary, that the arrangement is just a means to an end. But with each passing day, the lie feels more like the truth. And with each stolen touch, Kye feels more like mine. Because some things were never meant to be pretend.

And some dangers are closer than we ever imagined...

Review:

First, I'd like to thank Catherine Cowles & her team for sending me an ARC copy to review! I have to say it's so bittersweet to end this wild ride that is the Sparrow Falls Series!! I have grown to love these characters as if they're my own friends/family. I'm a bit sad that it is coming to an end but I know Catherine has many awesome things planned ahead, so I can't wait for that either!

Kye and Fallon's story has been one in the making since the very beginning of the series. With that, I would HIGHLY recommend reading these books in order, although you don't have to. It just gives such a great reading experience to see how their relationship develops before you get to their story, which man it feels like it's been forever to finally get their story but it has been SO worth the wait!!

Right from the beginning you dive into their story and finally figure out just how much they mean to one another. A secret only they know even if they've been "Family" for years. Diving into this aspect and getting to see just a sneak peek into their history was the perfect beginning to this story! As always, you also get right back into the hilarious family banter, and not let us forget all those Lolli art pieces and antics she gets up to! Nothing is better than the Colson's!

Kye and Fallon's love for one another is oh so strong. And it seems like it's something people realize, yet these two don't admit it to themselves. The angst, the love, the torture of just wanting to be with your person but assuming they don't have the same feelings, or knowing others might not approve since to them you are family (even if there's no blood relation at all since Kye was adopted into the family.)

When Kye's past comes to present with his mother he never wanted to think or see again, unfortunately there's a lot more baggage than anyone thought. However, Fallon once again shows up for Kye and gives him the perfect way in, even if it's only temporary. I don't want to spoil anything but I just have to say the character growth, the development and the way all of the characters relationships grow with one another was just *chefs kiss* PERFECTION!! I could feel all the emotions that we were put through, but it was honestly amazing to see everything unfold into the best ending ever!

There's also one scene that was just HOT. I mean Catherine really turned up the heat on these two, even with the long pining between Kye and Fallon, but all I'm gonna say is the tattoo scene... enough said!

As always, I'm kept on my toes trying to figure out who the suspect is. This time, while I had a hunch, Catherine seriously knows how to make you doubt yourself and start to guess so many others that it could be! I sort of had it right, but major plot twist came and just pulled the rug right out from under my feet, in the best way possible!

Overall, I was HOOKED! I could not put it down, as much as I also tried to savor this story from beginning to end. I devoured Secret Haven and now I'm just sad sitting here trying to hold myself together after reading this "It's always been you" love story! Did I need tissues... maybe, so there's your warning! Dare I say this might be my favorite of the series, which is a serious contender with both Broken Harbor and Chasing Shelter! I love, love, LOVED Kye & Fallon!!

That's all for my review, I hope you enjoyed it and I HIGHLY recommend getting Secret Haven & the entire series to binge read!

So until the next time, keep reading!

Your Graduated Bookworm!! :)
