Summary
:
Since the moment our lives fell apart, the only thing that mattered was making a good life for my son. A life where he was happy and safe. I just never expected to find that safety with a hockey player known for his brutal dominance on the ice and his recklessness off it.

But Cope Colson is so much more.

The gentle way he makes sure we’re okay. The playful care he shows my son. The way he truly sees me.

When my life comes apart yet again, it’s Cope picking up the pieces. Now, we’re living in his house, eating his incredible, chef-worthy meals, and it’s not just my son who’s falling.

It’s me.

Because when Cope touches me, I lose all sense. I’m no longer thinking about staying safe, I’m thinking about how my skin ignites with every glance, how I come undone with the barest brush of his fingertips, and when we give into temptation…I’m lost.

But Cope has secrets and so do I. And when the forces from our pasts emerge from the shadows, there’s nothing they won’t do to end our happiness once and for all…

Review:
First, I'd like to thank Catherine Cowles and her team for sending me an ARC to review! I have to say, as each book in the series comes along, I swear I'm getting worse at trying to figure out who the unsub truly is...

I was hooked from the beginning, as I am with any Catherine Cowles book, so this did NOT disappoint! I will say, I found it to be a bit spicier than her others, but I am not complaining about that! I think it was a great blend of spice to suspense that continued to leave me on the edge of my seat, wondering when the floor was going to give out, and what was going to come about their story!

Right from the start, I fell for Cope, Sutton and Luca. It didn't take much since I've read this series from the beginning, and you obviously get to meet them earlier on. So when it was finally time for their book, I knew I would be hooked no matter what! Give me a single parent romance any day and I'm like putty in the author's hands!

You could tell that Sutton was really trying to do everything herself. Stretching herself so thin, she barely had any time for anything else, and it was pretty clear for Cope to sense. And with the times he kept pushing wanting to help Sutton, I wanted to reach in there and give her a bit of a shake to just say YES. Of course after some time, she did and clearly it was the best thing for the three of them. The way he takes care of Sutton and Luca in so many ways was just oh so swoon-worthy! I loved seeing his caring side alongside many others as they navigate their feelings and life. You see such a growth between all the characters individually and together, and how much family means to one another, even when it's not blood.

Speaking of family, Cope's is truly amazing and every time I dive back into Sparrow Falls, I feel like I'm a fly on the wall being part of the family and of course Lotties hilarious antics never get old! There's a special kind of bond that Catherine's able to create with her characters in this found family, and I absolutely adore it!

This may be the time to ask Catherine Cowles if she'll be getting into a sports romance era after this?! Because I was here for all the hockey aspects, and how it really brought another connection to Cope and Luca throughout the story!

Now to the unsub. I swear I normally am good with coming up with at least 1 person who it might be, even changing my mind countless times as I read, but this time I was caught off guard. Of course Suttons Ex would play some sort of role as you read about the life she had with him, but the real suspect... did not see that coming from a mile away! And I love that Catherine is able to keep me wanting more, giving just a little bit, while still leaving me speechless over who it was!

Overall, this was a fantastic read! It was emotional, hilarious, spicy, and of course a roller coaster ride of all the emotions and feels! Catherine Cowles knows how to give you just enough to keep you itching for more, and I DEVOURED this story! Absolutely loved it!

That's all for my review, I hope you enjoyed it and be sure to grab your copy today!!

So until the next time, keep reading!
Your Graduated Bookworm! :)
