Summary:
Senior year.
Three girls. Three guys.
Hockey and rivalry.
Mean girls and friendships.
Old loves and new chances.
One more year of being invisible.
One more year to win it all.
The countdown begins.

Senior year can’t come or end fast enough for Amelia Campbell. For the shy, nerdy girl-next-door that she is, high school is torture and all she wants is for it to be over. Having her heart broken by a popular, womanizing boy all those years ago doesn’t help the matters. Nor does his best friend who still has a habit of mercilessly teasing her. Now, she only has one year left, one year to be invisible before she can move on with her life.

Derek King doesn’t do drama, but his life is all about drama once Maximillian Sanders steps foot into his town, his school, and into Amelia’s life. Max is always around, and he is making her smile again. But the boy who once broke her heart isn’t ready to let her go. Older and wiser, Derek isn’t about to let someone take away what he wants, and he wants Amelia.

She's set on not believing in him and on not getting her heart broken once again. He is set on showing her wrong.

She says she hates him, but maybe the line between past and present, love and hate is thinner than she ever realized.

Review:

Okay first, I wanna say that I picked this book up because the author had actually sent me book 2 to review, and I wanted to get an understanding of the series by reading the first book... well first! With that being said, I have so many mixed opinions over this.

To be quite honest, I didn't really enjoy it as much as I had hoped I would. I felt like it was really awkward reading with the two guys who seem so friggen possessive over Amelia. While I was reading it, I felt it kind of odd that one had just met her and was all insta-love and the other seemed like he wanted to keep her to himself but didn't explain his feelings to her from the start.

im good youtube GIF by Rosanna PansinoI do think that there were some enjoyable moments, I just couldn't feel that pull towards the characters that I desperately wanted to. I will say though that the emotions were definitely all over the place with Max and Derek butting heads, alongside this shy girl who begins to finally use the voice she's had all along.

I have to say though Derek's best friend was a real dick throughout the novel, and I just wanted to reach in and give him a big slap across the face if I could. It was as if falling for the "nerdy" girl was just completely ruining his popularity. I loved how Derek finally just stopped feeding into it and went for the girl he's always loved.

Overall this wasn't my favourite read so far. I felt like the characters were sort of all over the place, and I just didn't like how they all were acting in the book. Like I've always said though, just because this book isn't for me, doesn't mean that it won't be good for someone else (possibly younger) who could get caught up in all the drama! I can't wait to see how things turn around in book two!

That's all for my review, I hope you enjoyed it, and be sure to keep your eyes out for my next review!

So until the next time, Keep Reading!
Your Graduated Bookworm!! :)
