Summary:
Kol Archer guards the shadows of his past with unshakable control and rules he never dares to break.
Until her.
She’s the person he least expected. Yet here she is, turning his carefully constructed world upside down. Fairy-winged tea parties with his daughter. Dinners with his family. Moving into the apartment over his garage.
Now, Kol can’t escape her. She’s around every corner, filling the empty spaces inside him with her laughter, stealing his damn flannels, and tempting him to shatter the control he vowed to never lose hold of.
But Kol isn’t the only one transfixed by the new woman in Starlight Grove. Someone else is watching, waiting. And Kol has no choice but to act.
For her, he’ll not only break every rule, he’ll burn down the world to save her…

Review:
First, I'd like to thank Catherine Cowles & her team for sending me an ARC copy to review! I also needed some time to gather my thoughts because this one was a DOOZY!
Right from the beginning you dive into Nova's story where you do get a glimpse/background of in Across the Vanishing Sky. Don't worry though, you don't have to read it to understand Nova's story, but personally I'd recommend because it does give you a better reading experience!
I need to take a second to say... I actually got the suspect right for once?!! Like I called it from the very beginning, BUT Catherine seriously has a way with her words to make you second guess every single chapter the further you get into the story. Though I stuck to my initial thoughts and I don't know how, but I managed to be right. Maybe I'm reading too many suspense romance books to begin cracking down on the who's who! Though I shouldn't pat myself on the back so soon, because I'm sure she'll get me in the next book like she does with every other one I've read!
I DEVOURED this book, and trust me it was really hard to put down! I was drawn from page one and couldn't turn the pages fast enough! It was addictive, heartbreaking, heartwarming and oh so sweet with that Archer family banter I've already become addicted to.
The relationship between Nova and Skylar was the absolute sweetest thing I could read. They fit together so effortlessly, like you can feel and know that Nova is meant to be the mom Skylar never had. They're the perfect duo, and when you've got them together with Kol around, he's just putty in their hands! He will do anything and everything for those he loves, and it takes no time to come to his senses that Nova is one of those people.
Let me take a moment though to talk about the spice. Because Catherine... whoah this one was hot! The way that Kol made sure Nova was comfortable and in charge not only is great in a general sense, but it helped Nova get over some trauma she was dealing with and it really showed not only in these sexy and intimate scenes, but also while she's at the bar and dealing with patrons, or wanting to do some adrenaline junkie kind of things... her growth throughout the book was amazing!
Now these Archer brothers. I don't know HOW I can already fall in love with the one brother who literally doesn't talk with his voice, and yet Catherine has me aching to read Orion's story. I know it's going to hurt me and mess me up so bad, but I cannot wait!! The way he was caring and helpful towards Nova was the absolute sweetest. In fact, all the Archer men really go out of their way to take care of those they all love, and the way they come together to protect their people... chefs kiss!!
Overall, this was another amazing read from Catherine, and I'm telling you, if you haven't read anything by her, pick this book up and get on it because she has a way to keep you hooked from the very first page, rip your heart out in the best way possible and put it back together at the very end! It was an emotional rollercoaster and one I didn't want to get off at any point! I was swooning, giggling, and falling in love with more than one Archer throughout this book!
That's all for my review, I hope you enjoyed it and be sure to pick up your copy now!!
So until the next time, keep reading!
Your Graduated Bookworm!! :)
